Impotence Drug Recommendations

In order not to drag on and become permanent impotence, erectile disorder should be viewed as a disease to be treated. Over the last few years the awareness of people to seek treatment even increased.

Recent guidelines issued by the American College of Physicians recommends physicians to prescribe oral phosphodiesterase inhibitor type 5 (PDE-5) such as Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra, men suffering from erectile dysfunction, unless the patient is under nitrate therapy.

Since it is considered not enough evidence in the case of the third comparative advantages of the drug, doctors are advised to prescribe the most appropriate drug based on the factors that cause impotence and the patient's personal considerations, such as drug prices, drug efficacy and possible side effects experienced by patients.

When divided into two factors causes, most people with impotence caused by organic factors (about 70-85 per cent), such as diabetes or prostate enlargement. The rest as psychic factors, which generally occurs at a young age.

Guidelines for doctors is recommended based on analysis of the study Dr. Amir Qaseem, senior doctors from the American College of Physicians (ACP) of the 130 studies that evaluate drug PDE-5 inhibitor, a single or a combination.

The researchers found that treatment of impotence with these drugs showed improvement in the quality of erectile function and sexual penetration impotence in men or men who feel less erection hardness.

Regarding hormonal therapy for patients who have testosterone deficiency, ACP does not recommend it because there are no strong enough evidence. However, ACP is also not opposed to the use of this hormone test in patients with erectile dysfunction.

Measuring hormone levels in patients, doctors are advised to consider the clinical symptoms experienced by each patient, such as decreased libido, premature ejaculation, exhaustion, and physical changes in vital equipment, prior to said hormone disruption.
